Israel Report - Friday 11 July 2025
Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. [Isaiah 26; vv 19-21]
Are we on the Verge of a New Middle East?
IDSF - Israel's Defence and Security Forum
In this episode, Dr. Daniela Giulia Traub, a geopolitical scholar, talks about the knowledge based economy that we could see emerging in countries in the Middle East.
She talks about the shift from extremism to forward thinking, economic driven national decision making and how this can impact countries like Syria and Saudi Arabia.
In the aftermath of the recent [and likely to continue] war with Iran and a new reality in Syria and Turkey, these changes could be on the horizon, providing new opportunities.
Though caution is needed... the Hebrew prophets paint a much different picture of the days just ahead.

Netanyahu tells Hostage Families Hamas will pick which Captives go freeā¦.
Netanyahu told hostage families on Wednesday that Hamas will determine which hostages will be released during a possible 60-day truce, a source present at the Washington meeting said.
Netanyahu has yet to publicly comment on how the list of 10 living hostages and the bodies of 18 slain hostages will be determined, which has become a major source of anxiety for hostage families, who fear that their loved ones will not be among those to be released during the temporary truce currently being negotiated.
The source said Netanyahu told the families that as far as Israel is concerned, all of the hostages are considered āhumanitarianā ā meaning that no group of living captives will be prioritized over the other, given that their conditions are all acutely dire after 643 days in Gaza.
Israel ready to Negotiate a Permanent Ceasefireā¦.
Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel was ready to negotiate a permanent ceasefire in Gaza during a 60-day truce but only if the Arab Palestinian territory was demilitarized.
Delegations from Israel and Hamas began indirect talks in Doha on Sunday to try to agree a temporary halt in the war, but so far they appear to be many miles apart.
US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff has proposed a 60-day ceasefire in exchange for the release of half of the 20 living hostages still in Gaza.
"At the beginning of this ceasefire, we will enter negotiations for a permanent end to the war," he said in a video message from Washington on Thursday.
Russia gives Rubio a 'New and Different Approach' to Ukraineā¦..
Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday said he and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov had exchanged "new" and "different" approaches to ending the nearly three-and-half-year-long war in Ukraine as President Donald Trumpās frustration mounts.
"I think itās a new and a different approach," Rubio told reporters following his nearly hour-long meeting with Lavrov at the sideline of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) conference in Malaysia.
"I wouldnāt characterize it as something that guarantees a peace, but itās a concept that Iāll take back to the president."
Rubio did not share any details of what this new approach entails, but comes as Trump mulls "biting" sanctions against Russia and upping military aid to Ukraine, also claiming this week that he did not sign off on the Pentagon's limited arms pause to Kyiv pushed through earlier this month.
Pentagon Announces Sweeping Changes to Drone Weaponsā¦
The Pentagon has announced sweeping new changes intended to surge the fielding of small drones, including weaponized types, across the entire U.S. military.
Most notably, certain types of smaller unmanned aerial systems (UAS) will now be treated as āconsumables,ā more akin to hand grenades and other kinds of ammunition, than aircraft, which has broad ramifications.
Lower-level commanders will now also be able to procure smaller UASs directly, as well as authorize subordinates to operate them.
The new policies rolled out yesterday represent a huge shift that could not come soon enough for the U.S. military, which has continued to move extremely slowly to field drones on a widespread basis, even as lessons learned in blood from active battlefields have become ever more pronounced.
āDrones are the biggest battlefield innovation in a generation, accounting for most of this yearās casualties in Ukraine. Our adversaries collectively produce millions of cheap drones each year,ā U.S. Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth wrote in a memo.
āWhile global military drone production skyrocketed over the last three years, the previous administration deployed red tape. U.S. units are not outfitted with the lethal small drones the modern battlefield requires.ā
āDrone dominance is a process race as much as a technological race. Modern battlefield innovation demands a new procurement strategy that fuses manufacturers with our frontline troops.ā
āFinally, weāll train as we expect to fight. To simulate the modern battlefield, senior officers must overcome the bureaucracyās instinctive risk-aversion on everything from budgeting to weaponizing and training,ā he continues. āNext year I expect to see this capability integrated into all relevant combat training, including force-on-force drone wars.ā
Welcome to the future of warfare. John on Patmos circa 96AD must have been stunned with these horrifying visions given to him?
